womens-day-cullinanChristine Revell Children’s home celebrated Women’s Day in style in 2013. In partnership with the Cullinan Hotel, some of the volunteers/ host mothers and the staff were treated with a breakfast.

The MC, Chris Osborne, treated the women with much dignity and respect – we thank him and value him for his time and willingness.

The programme started with Mr Carl Isaacs, international make up artist, demonstrating how to make up your face in 5 simple steps. His work has graced the covers of leading fashion magazines such as Italian Vogue, Vanity Fair, UK Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Femina, Elle and Oprah amongst many. He has worked with celebrities both nationally and internationally such as Diane Carrol, Gina Athens, Zureida Jardien and the McGregor Sisters to name but a few.

Claudine & Joey Cornelius performed two gospel songs, inspiring the women  – “The More I seek You” and “Fall upon your Knees“.

The guest speaker, Estee Lazarus – director at the Creative Love Empowerment Projects –spoke about “getting rid of what holding you back in life to thrive”  and visualising the potential within you and to act on it.

Claire Cohen, biokineticist from Sport Science Institute, encouraged the women by demonstrating how to make exercise part of their daily routine.

We gave out some spot prizes during the programme but kept the best for last! The women’s Day committee, staff of CRCH (Anneline, Lea, Rayleen, Carmelita, Shireen, Rewena, Bomkasi and  Siziwe) were thanked by our director, Alicia Rhoda, and they each received a voucher as a token of appreciation.
