The end of such an amazing era

After 22 years of service to Christine Revell our Director, Alicia  Rhoda,  has said farewell as she approaches a new chapter in her life.

We will miss her  tremendously but her legacy and lasting impact  in the home will continue.

Alicia started in July 1997 as the Creche Co-ordinator and was promoted to the Director’s Assistant in 1998 before being appointed Director in 2000. She has been instrumental in growing the Home from near collapse to the successful institution it is today, greatly assisted by the Waterfront Rotary Club members’ representatives that serve on our Management and Board of Trustees.

Alicia`s passion was the well-being of the children – she loved them deeply and was their greatest advocate. She was equally passionate about the training and development of the staff and in an emotional farewell ceremony, the staff blessed her with gifts, affirming messages, and an atmosphere of love.

As much as we will miss her, she departs with our blessing and with our love and gratitude for a job well done. We are also thrilled and delighted to welcome her successor – Grace Fabe – watch this space for a full introduction shortly.
