Velma Bedderson from Plumstead celebrated her 40th Birthday on Saturday with friends and family by painting the passage walls of Christine Revell Children’s Home in Athlone. Velma got involved this year through the group Arise – who volunteer their services once a month doing Saturday morning activities with the children.
She invited her friends and family to what she called “a working party”. Paint was donated by Dulux, brushes by Builders Warehouse (Tokai) and money donations made by volunteers.
Bedderson says, “People do not realize the blessing in giving, and the amount of vulnerable children there are in our local communities who could benefit even just from people giving of their time”.[slideshow id=8 w=450 h=300]
